Embracing the Quiet: Finding Strength in Life's Silent Seasons
Have you ever found yourself whispering questions into the void, wondering if your efforts are just echoes in the universe? I've been there too, but I've discovered there's magic in the stillness, a topic I'm eager to share with you. Welcome to a heartfelt episode of Sincerely, Brown Skin, where I'm navigating the tranquil waters of life's silent phases. I'm here to remind you that the quiet times when prayers seem to vanish into thin air are not signs of absence, but rather moments of being intricately fashioned for greatness.

Welcome to Sincerely Brown Skin, a podcast where I'm diving into the intimate areas of your life on all things relationships, personal growth and self-love. I'm your host, quen, and my goal each week is to provide you with a little advice, a spoonful of encouragement and a sincere reminder that, honey, you are a wonder, you are magical, you are worthy. And then some. Now let's get this quick slide, for goodness. Hello everyone, it has been a while since we connected, but I am back wishing all of you guys a happy new year. I hope this year has treated you well so far and that you've let go of whatever needed leaving behind in the past year. To be honest, the break from the podcast wasn't just about a long, extended holiday. Although it was great, it was also a time for me to reflect and listen to God. Last year brought a lot of questioning between God and me, filled with why, what and when. I'm sure many of you have walked down that path before. It's a challenging one. To be transparent, there are moments when we pray, yet our prayer seemed unanswered. We're doing our best, making the right choices, but still feel overlooked, just like God is focused on a whole other planet altogether. But here's what I have learned. The silence doesn't mean God has forgotten us. It's often a sign that he's working within us. In those times of isolation where it seems nothing is changing on the outside, something profound is happening on the inside. Our character is being refined, we're learning not to depend on others' experiences. Maturity and strength gain in such times. It prepares us for the new levels God intends for us to go. Hear me when I say don't complain about the silence. Embrace the silence, for God does His greatest work in isolation, when no one seems to be noticing us. When God is silent, it doesn't signify His lack of concern. Quite the opposite, actually. It's a sign that he's closely watching you. He's getting you prepared for what is to come. But if he bought you out before you were ready, it would stop your purpose.
Speaker 1:God loves us so much that at times he will hide us and cause us to be overlooked, cause the doors not to open, cause a person to walk away. You can be talented and hidden, anointed and hidden, have great ideas, life-changing ideas, and hidden. And if you don't understand that it's God that is hiding you, you'll be frustrated and be led to act out of your own will and not God's. David in the Bible was anointed as king in his teenage years. However, he didn't ascend to the throne immediately. Instead, god hid him and he spent years in obscurity tending to his father's sheep. It was a lonely time for David, especially when his brothers were celebrated and the military had all of these titles and had all of this wealth. He wanted to be celebrated as well and will often wonder why and when.
Speaker 1:But here is the key and compare your life to others, for our paths are unique and running our race without looking left or right and just straight ahead is crucial. So I encourage you to not feel discouraged, because God has you hidden. You're not, of course, or falling behind. You're in a season of preparation and training, so keep doing the right thing and when the time is right, god will bring you out in the open, and no person or circumstance can hinder it. Stay faithful, your time is just around the corner. Sincerely Brown Skin. Thank you so much for listening to Sincerely Brown Skin.
