Welcome to Sincerely Brown Skin, a podcast where I'm diving into the intimate areas of your life, on all things relationships, personal growth and self-love. I'm your host, quen, and my goal each week is to provide you with a little advice, a spoonful of encouragement and a sincere reminder that, honey, you are a wonder, you are magical, you are worthy. And then some. Now let's get this quick slide, for goodness. Dear women, in the termilless journey of grappling with life's impossible questions, I address those of you wrestling with the quandaries of love and self-discovery, the introspective struggle compressed in the inquiries of should I go, when do I leave and how do I stay. It echoes to the core of our personal narratives. It is a universal odyssey and I share with you a personal story, one that revolves around the maze of my first serious relationship. Despite myriad signs urging me to go, I resisted the echoes attempting to drown out the dissenting whispers. That caution, my heart, every fiber of my being clung to that relationship, as if defying the gravity of my intuition. The concoffinity of reasons to stay drowned out, the soft, persistent voice urging me to go. In the tapestry of emotions, I grapple with conflicting desires, overwhelmed by myriad threats weaving love, comfort and familiarity. Yet, amidst the complexity, I discovered a profound truth, which was this there may be countless reasons to stay, but there exists only one compelling reason to go, and it's because you want to.
Speaker 1:The simple act of wanting to leave carries an atristic weight, a reason that cannot be ignored. Reflecting on my experience, I acknowledge or should I say I admit to falling in love long before really understanding the real meaning of that emotion. It became a journey of self-discovery, intertwined with the acknowledgement that love too can be a mistake, the realization that, even though my heart had misstep, it did not diminish the legitimacy of my feelings but illuminated the importance of listening to one's inter-compass. Thus, my dear women, I implore you to heed the call within to recognize that wanting to leave is a powerful enough reason In the pursuit of authenticity and self-love. Sometimes the path forward demands taking the courageous step to go.
